Jaeley and I both spoke about AI regarding the answer to this prompt: “Compare the barriers to adoption for the Jacquard loom with the barriers to adoption of the telegraph. Are the barriers to adoption for Project Starline more like those for the Jacquard loom or those for the telegraph?”

We had both given it a B, and that it was lacking certain information such as the possibility of adding further on the history of each one and more in depth comparisons. She had said that it scratched the surface of the information, which was fine for a simple answer, but it could’ve definietly added further.

She had said it was formatted weirdly, which I do agree with, but at the same time it was laid out easily to read in my opinion, but we both had agreed the bullet points were a bit odd. Rather than bullet points it could’ve just created small paragraphs to make it even easier to read.

It had included a good portion of information of the complications of each one, but should’ve included its history, allowing for a deeper connection in understanding the history and digital revolution of each one. Personally, if I were to write it out and not use AI I would include further information and turn it more into a short essay with headings for each section, allowing for an easy read without unnecessary bullet points. The comparasin portion could’ve included more information about how each one interlap into the other and how the production of the previous one had helped with the production of the others that had come after it.

One thing I really liked in this was the fact that it had included websites to view, to show where it had gotten the information from. Allowing you to crosscheck the entire thing. This is what had lead me to give it a B. I would’ve given it an A, along with Jaeley, if it had just gone further in depth. But, there is only so much AI can do at this moment as it is still evolving and learning. AI’s capabilities so far are incredible, but it will only learn more to further educate itself on giving well written responses.
