The process of digitization is quite fascinating as it all started way back from earlier inventions. One of these early inventions are hieroglyphs, which were one of the earliest ways humans communicated and recorded information. They were unable to be typed up and sent easily, like we have today. Later on some systems such as the telegraph and morse code built the foundations for today. It allowed messages to be sent over long distances, but needed human decoding.

The telephone improved on both of these by allowing messages to be spoken to others at further distances. The telephone were sound waves and can be turned into digital data to be sent instantly.

The satellite we had spoken about earlier in class was another example of digitalization where we were able to watch TV. Of course it has revolutionized like all of these as well. Digitization has transformed how we create and share information, from symbols and beeps, to something we carry around with us everyday!
